Krabi is a town on the western coast of southern Thailand, where the Krabi River meet the Andaman Sea. The town is the capital of Krabi Province and Krabi district.
Since 1999 the town is served by the Krabi Airport, located west of the town. Passing through the town is Phetkasem highway. Many vacationers travel through Krabi only to go to the more popular vacation locations nearby, like Ko Phi Phi, Railay Beach, Ao Nang, Ko Jum, Phuket and Ko Lanta.

Many rock climbing outfitters in Krabi also give lessons at various skill levels to help you improve your rock climbing abilities. The limestone cliffs and unique stone formations have helped Krabi to achieve a global reputation among rock climbers. Ton Sai is the first stop for most climbers, as it's the most frequented climbed place in the area. Other climbing trips to more secluded areas can be easily arranged.

Many resorts offer organised day trips to the highlights of this archipelago. For independent travelers sea kayaks are available for rent and can be used for trips to smaller islands. If you would like a place to set up a camp consider heading out to Than Bok Khorani National Park, a secluded place without accommodation facilities in hotels or resorts. There you'll find an abundance of plant species and wildlife. The park boasts also several limestone caves and lovely mangrove forests.
A another great travel destination is island Koh Lanta, now a marine national park. This island features beautiful beaches, unique rock formations and stunning coral reefs. Some of the rain forest on this island is virtually untouched and is protected. Vacationers can rent bungalows and stay in area to explore better the magnificent nature.
Ao Nang beach area is the main vacation hot spot of Krabi. In this resort area you'll find bars and restaurants whose doors remain open past midnight. Still, this is a family-oriented vacation resort, with nice restaurants and a relaxed & quiet atmosphere. The main beach activities are well represented. The official scuba diving season in Krabi is from November to Mach, though the conditions are hospitable all year round and divers can be found there at every time of the year. Snorkelling is also a great way to get a view of the coral reefs. Diving companies from the mainland will arrange diving trips out to the best reefs in the surrounding area.
Temple Tham Seua Wat is the largest in Krabi and its name means "Tiger Cave Temple". It's literally tucked into the cliffs of Ao Luk Thanu mountain range. The highlight of this temple is the footprint of Buddha.
