Wat from Cambodia, Laos or Thailand
"Buddha Wat" means a temple for Buddhists. These temples are located in Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. The word "wat" literally means "school". So, a "wat" is a Buddhist temple and a school where the Buddhist monks reside. A site where don't live Buddhist monks should not be called "wat", but in Thailand sometimes even the ruins of an ancient Buddhist temple are called "wat".
