Thailand HolidaysWeather & Seasons In Thailand - Best Time To Visit Thailand

Thailand is a country located in Southeast Asia and one of the preferred travel destinations in this part of the planet, the beautiful beach resorts in Phuket, Pattaya, Koh Samui, Krabi or hotels in the capital city of Bangkok being visited annually by millions of people. Due to geographical position, the weather in Thailand is tropical with warm and humid days, and there are three seasons, which are different in the northern and southern sides of the country as following: in north the weather is hot and dry between March-May, rainy from June to October and mild in the period November-February, while in south it is hot between March-May, rainy in the interval May-November and mild from December to February. Thailand lies in the central region of mainland in Southeast Asia and therefore the climate is tropical, meaning that temperatures range from an average annual high of 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius) to a low of 66 degrees Fahrenheit (19 degrees Celsius).

Seasons in Thailand are characterized by specific factors and the variations are significant. The hot season in Thailand, lasting from March/April to June/July, features a very warm weather and few rainfall, the temperatures climb without effort over 100 degrees Fahrenheit (35 degrees Celsius) and even more in the central and northeastern parts of the country where a heat of 105 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius) is considered something common! In the northern end appear frequently hail storms accompanied by short but serious rainfall series. The rainy season in Thailand (June-October in north and May-November in south) features a very wet weather and high temperatures, with significant quantities of rain and numerous storms. In the coastal areas, as well as on islands, the sensation is not so suffocating like on mainland due to the cooling breeze coming from the sea. The cool or mild season (November-February in the northern areas and December-February in the southern end) has another significance than in Europe or North America, being characterized by temperatures of 82,5-86 degrees Fahrenheit (28-30 degrees Celsius) and rare rain showers, so the atmosphere is much more breathable. As consequence, tourist attractions and the awesome beaches in Thailand can be enjoyed much better in this part of the year.

When is the best time to visit Thailand? Generally, the high season is considered the period between November/December and February, when most popular resorts and hotels in Thailand are packed with tourists and the beaches become pretty crowded. However, the great weather is compensated by a negative fact – the prices increase seriously and everything is expensive because of the large number of foreign vacationers visiting the country. Budget-conscious people are advised to book holiday packages and travel deals to Thailand in the rainy season. This advice is especially valuable to people who intend to take delight in beach vacations on islands or in the southern coastal areas, because in these regions the wet season is not characterized by large quantities of precipitation, in fact there is possible that rains to occur at every few days. Because many savvy tourists know about this travel tip, in Thailand is a secondary peak season – from mid-June or beginning of July to end of August, when many hotels are crowded as consequence of the fact it offer holiday specials and discount room rates. The fewest people take trips to Thailand in April, September and October and this is also the interval when the room rates are at the lowest level.

Holiday packages to Thailand are highly demanded in tourist agencies all over the world, particularly to Bangkok and resort towns like Pattaya, Koh Samui, Phuket, Krabi, Ko Lanta, Phi Phi Island, Hua Hin, and others. Most tourists are attracted by the wonderful tropical environment, warm weather, numerous attractions and landmarks, awesome beaches and very friendly local people (by the way, Thailand is nicknamed "The Land Of Smiles"). Almost all seasons in Thailand are perfect to visit this Asian tourist gem, excepting perhaps the hot and wet season in Bangkok, as well as the rainy seasons in the central and northeastern regions.
